No. Devoxal is a voice operating layer for the coding agents you already use — Cursor, Claude Code, Devin, VS Code, Windsurf, and terminal CLIs like Gemini, Copilot, Codex, Aider, and JetBrains CLI. The agent writes code; Devoxal is ears, mouth, and hands.

Dictation drops text into a field. Devoxal’s default is Agent mode: conductor commands vs coding prompts, auto-submit to IDE chat, live narration, and barge-in — including from your phone. When you actually want dictation, switch the HUD to Text paste and speech lands at the insertion point (Slack, comments, forms) without driving the agent. Privacy is local-first too: IDE screen captures and BYOK keys stay on your Mac; we don’t sell your data or train on your sessions.

During the free 7-day trial, yes — bring your own OpenAI key. It stays on your Mac (settings / keychain) and is never uploaded to Devoxal servers or shared across a team. Paid individual and team seats use hosted usage; local BYOK is overflow only.

Screen captures and BYOK keys stay on your Mac. We don’t sell your data, and we don’t train models on your code, voice, or screenshots. Optional cloud sync on paid plans stores session story data you enable for continuity and phone remote — not raw IDE images for training. See the Privacy page for details.

No. Captures used to understand what’s on screen stay local on your Mac. They’re processed on-device for orchestration — not uploaded to our cloud for storage, sale, or model training.

After someone accepts, their seat stays disabled until you Activate and pay the full seat price for ~30 days (no mid-cycle half). Renew when that seat expires. They keep their personal plan until Activate completes. Team Pro/Premium use a team-wide monthly on-demand cap; Team Enterprise also allows per-member caps.

GUI: Cursor first, plus Claude Code, Windsurf, Devin, and VS Code via thin adapters. Terminal: Gemini CLI, Claude Code CLI, Copilot CLI, Codex CLI, Aider, and JetBrains CLI — same voice loop (speak, hear narration, barge in). Sync from the Devoxal dashboard when your IDE or terminal session is open.

Devoxal talks to your IDE through a small VoxCode extension on your Mac or PC. After Connect or Sync installs it the first time, reload the IDE window once: Mac — Cmd+Shift+P → type “Developer: Reload Window” → Enter. Windows — Ctrl+Shift+P → same command → Enter. Then tap Sync again in Devoxal. You should see “VoxCodeAI: connected” in the IDE status bar. Voice still pastes if the bridge is offline, but narration and stop/new-chat need the reload.

Bridge offline means the VoxCode extension inside Cursor (or VS Code) on this computer isn’t connected — fix with Reload Window (see above). Phone remote and Live use the cloud gateway; that needs the Mac/PC app online with your IDE open and synced. They’re separate: fix the local bridge first for desk voice; check internet and that Devoxal is running for phone.

Speak a goal in plain English. Devoxal turns it into a checklist of stages, then pilots your coding agent through them — you don’t have to sit and tap Continue. Pause, edit a stage, add one, or Stop (clears the list). Ask me pauses on every permission card; Allow in-scope lets Devoxal Run/Skip routine in-scope actions (destructive work and sign-in still wait for you). The same list shows on Mac and, on Pro and above, on your phone over the internet. Free and trial Autopilot runs from the Mac HUD.

Yes. Pair with QR or magic link. Speak and hear narration remotely while the Mac session keeps driving the IDE — no keyboard required. The link runs over the internet (not “sitting next to the computer”), so you can leave the desk as long as the Mac stays online.

No. Mobile remote is cloud-routed: your phone talks to Devoxal’s relay, which reaches the Mac app — so you don’t need to be on the same Wi‑Fi or in the same room. Requirements are simple: the Mac (or a VM / VPS you leave running) has internet, Devoxal is open, and your IDE is synced. Then you can be on a flight, in a car, or across the city and still reach the same IDE session seamlessly.

The app locks until you subscribe (Individual Pro/Premium/Enterprise or a Team seat plan). There is no permanent free automation tier in v1.

No. We don’t train models on your code, prompts, narration, or screen captures. Orchestration runs against your IDE chat and voice session on your machine. You control keys and optional cloud sync from the dashboard.

Yes — Devoxal for Windows is available from Downloads. Install, grant Microphone and Accessibility, open the dashboard, Connect your IDE, then reload that IDE window once (Ctrl+Shift+P → Developer: Reload Window) so the bridge extension loads. Wake shortcut is Ctrl+Alt+V by default.
